Go Ahead in the Rain reminds anyone fortunate enough to receive its pages that being black in America is to be part of a lineage, that no one person’s story exists in a vacuum, and that, like Hanif with Phife and Ali and Q and Jarobi, connective tissue exists all around us, invisible to the indifferent and brightly illuminated to the curious.
Hanif Abdurraqib is a poet, essayist, and cultural critic. He is the author of 2016 poetry collection The Crown Ain’t Worth Much (published as Hanif Willis-Abdurraqib), 2017 essay collection They Can’t Kill Us Until They Kill Us and the 2019 non-fiction book, Go Ahead in the Rain, on the hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest.
Mr. Hanif Abdurraqib is glad to share with you the first few pages of his book, so you won’t be able to stop reading! Read and enjoy Go Ahead in the Rain: Notes on the Tribe Called Quest.

"I follow up on Yaghoub Yadali since 2005. I’ve read all his books, I find him a talented author who gives a lot of useful tips and generously sharing with his readers.

"I’ve recently read Yaghoub Yadali “Rituals of Restlessness” and I can say I’m a big fan of this writer now! It was well-written and easy to read. At the same time there are sentimental moments which reveals the main character.
