September 30 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

Prepare to be hypnotized by the musical stylings of sibling duo Las Áñez. The Áñez twins’ music is designed to be performed live with a loop pedal and small instruments, in a minimal yet enchanting concert style. Their shows include songs from their four award-winning albums, which have captivated audiences in ten countries across the Americas and Europe with their unique blend of folklore and the avant-garde.
This program is presented as a part of Songs in the Key of She, a new concert series taking place in Chicago, New York, and Pittsburgh that features and celebrates women musicians and composers from around the world. Produced by the Chicago-based nonprofit Torito Arts in collaboration with City of Asylum, the series aims to combat the underrepresentation of female musicians in the male-dominated music industry. Songs in the Key of She is a platform in which talented women in music share their creativity and stories with new audiences.
This engagement of Las Áñez is made possible in part through the Performing Arts Global Exchange program of Mid Atlantic Arts.

About the Artist:
The Áñez sisters are Juanita and Valentina Añez Rothmann. Both sisters sing on all their songs, half of which are composed and arranged by each of them, and they are the producers of their first three albums. Juanita plays the cuatro and percussion, and Valentina is a pianist and percussionist. Their albums include Silbidos (2017), Al Aire (2017), Reflexión (2020), Paralelas (2023), and, most recently, Duálismo Magico (2026).
