Each October, Reel Q hosts a nine-day film festival in Pittsburgh, PA, celebrating LGBTQ films from across the world. Now in its 41st year, Reel Q is Pittsburgh’s longest-running film festival, the fifth oldest LGBTQ+ film festival in the United States, and the sixth oldest in the world. Reel Q programs approximately 20 locally first-run LGBTQ-themed full-length films and 50 to 60 short films ranging from comedies, dramas, and documentaries. City of Asylum is thrilled to host one such screening this October, with a to-be-announced film fans are sure to love.

Reel Q’s mission is to increase the availability and accessibility of queer film in Pittsburgh, and this program features international cinema centering queer characters. Previous screenings have shown films such as Finlandia (Mexico), Happy Together (Hong Kong), and The Queen of My Dreams (Pakistan/Canada).
