Lost & Found in Translation: Storytelling with the World Affairs Council

October 3, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

Our festival programming begins with an evening of live storytelling! All sharing stories in the theme of Lost & Found in Translation, the program features eight high school students who traveled abroad (Ecuador, France, Italy, Japan, South Korea, and Spain) this past summer through the World Affairs Council’s global Travel Scholars program. All of the Global Travel Scholars will tell a true, five-minute story of a time when communication (verbal or nonverbal exchange) failed to have the same meaning across cultures— or a time when it felt surprisingly familiar.
